New Homes in Cambridge

From the River Cam to the history visible the city’s beautiful architecture, gorgeous Cambridge is a prime spot for a new home.

Great shopping, cultural attractions, green spaces and famous festivals are further reasons to buy a new house in Cambridge.

Things to see and do

Home to the world-famous University of Cambridge, one of the city’s top attractions is the nine museums and collections within the university. The Fitzwilliam Museum showcases impressive collections of world famous art and antiquities spanning centuries and civilisations, while the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology features one of the biggest collections of objects from the travels of Captain James Cook.

The architecture of the buildings can be admired from the river on a punting tour which passes landmarks such as King's College Chapel, The Wren Library at Trinity College and the Bridge of Sighs.

Cobbled streets around the historic market place offer a mixture of independent shops and high street brands. When all your energy is spent, head to one of the city’s many coffee shops or bars, to enjoy an al fresco coffee or something a little stronger.

Explore the city from the saddle along the city’s cycle routes, while culture hunters may like to take a walk on one of the city’s sculpture trails. Cambridge showcases over 70 works of 20th and 21st century sculpture featuring both local and international artists.

The city hosts a number of festivals and events throughout the year, such as the world-famous Folk Festival, Cambridge Beer Festival (which includes the Cambridge Winter Ale Festival and Octoberfest), and enchanting Secret Garden Party Festivals. King’s College Chapel is known for its choral services with a Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols broadcast live on Christmas Eve by the BBC.

Education

The city is home to the prestigious University of Cambridge. Dating back to 1209, it’s the second-oldest university in the English-speaking world and welcomes students from across the globe, offering a range of undergraduate and postgraduate study.

Transport links

Cambridge’s location means that it’s easy to reach whether travelling by air, road or rail.

There are fast, regular services from Liverpool Street and King’s Cross in London through to Cambridge.

If you are travelling from Scotland and the North, there are excellent connections via Peterborough and regional services from Birmingham and the Midlands, East Anglia and the Northwest. Buses into the city centre from Cambridge railways station are available, look out for Citi 1, Citi 3 and Citi 7 services.

If you’re travelling from the South and from London, Cambridge is an easy trip up the M11. The A1 and M1 connect to the A14 dual carriageway directly into the city, for travellers from the north, while the A14 takes drivers from the east and west into Cambridge.
