As you might gather from the town’s name, Market Harborough has a vibrant retail scene. As well as a lively market, the town centre also has lots of other shops to browse before sitting down for a bite or drink at one of the many cafes or restaurants. The Old Grammar School and Harborough Museum are further places of interest in the heart of town, with the latter housed in an old corset factory.
The outskirts of Market Harborough are full of highlights like Kelmarsh Hall, West Lodge Rural Centre and Harrington Aviation Museum, while your little ones will love a trip to Windmill Farm Park. From quad biking and other exciting activities at Avalanche Adventure, to the all-action Armourgeddon Military Museum where you can even drive a tank, the Cromwell Memorial is another notable landmark just outside town.

Market Harborough’s train station is on St Mary’s Road just east of the town centre, offering services to both Leicester and Kettering which take around 10 minutes. There are non-stop trains to St Pancras taking less than an hour, meaning the town is a viable place to live if you want to commute to London. Market Harborough is bypassed by the A6, while the M1 motorway runs just to the west of town.
