This area has a rich educational background thanks to local independent Eton College, while Slough and Eton Church of England Business and Enterprise College is an outstanding state secondary with academy status. Upton Court Grammar is another local state secondary rated as outstanding by Ofsted, along with St Bernard’s Catholic Grammar School and Langley Grammar.
The Westgate School, Eden Girls’ School and Herschel Grammar are all outstanding too and have catchment areas which encompass Slough. If your kids are a little younger, Montem Academy, Khalsa Primary and Castleview Primary are among the best local schools and all in Ofsted’s top band.
Transport links in Slough
Slough has excellent transport links, starting with its convenient location just five miles from Heathrow Airport. The M4 motorway passes just to the south of town, which has a central train station off Stoke Road. Direct services to London Paddington take just 15 minutes, while Crossrail’s Elizabeth line also connects Slough to places like Reading and Maidenhead, as well as a range of stops in the heart of the capital.
