The centre of Yarm is an attractive place to spend your time, thanks to its setting in a bend of the River Tees and features like the local castle opposite the St Mary Magdalene church. There are also a couple of independent schools in town - Yarm Preparatory School for younger children and Yarm School, which is a mixed all-through catering for children aged between two and 18. 

Transport links in Yarm

Yarm’s train station is in the south of town along Green Lane, and offers services to Middlesbrough which take just 15 minutes. There are plenty of local bus routes, while Teeside International Airport is less than five miles away, or 10 minutes in the car. Darlington is only another 10 minutes on from the airport, with the A1(M) motorway passing just to the west of there.
