Hartsholme Country Park and Whisby Nature Park are also nearby, with nature trails and lots of wildlife. Apex Lake has its own sailing club, and the privately owned Lincolnshire Road Transport Museum in New Hykeham, is a place to discover a unique collection of more than 65 vintage cars.

Educational facilities

The University of Lincoln is close by, and consistently climbing the UK university rankings - placed at number 54 in the 2016 Guardian tables.

Transport links

North Hykeham has good transport links via road and rail. The nearest train station at Hykeham is just a 10 minute walk away. From there, a train into Lincoln Central station takes less than 10 minutes. 

For day trips to the coast, Skegness is just an hour and a half drive away. Nottingham can be reached within an hour by road, while a journey to London along the A1 and M11 takes two and a half hours without traffic. At 30 miles north east of Lincoln, Humberside International is the nearest airport taking 49 minutes.
