New Homes in Lincoln

Make the move

The beautiful cathedral city of Lincoln is rich in history, heritage, culture and attractions.

Buying a new home in Lincoln will treat you to all this and more and is a superb choice for families and couples alike.

Things to see and do

Experience the history of the city with a trip to Lincoln Cathedral, Lincoln Castle and the Cathedral Quarter.

Making your way to this part of the city via Steep Hill – voted ‘Britain’s best street’ - will take you through an ancient cobbled road, filled with vintage shops, boutiques and tea rooms.

Lincoln Castle dates back to 1068 and houses one of the only four surviving copies of Magna Carta. Built by William the Conqueror, highlights include its Victorian prison and the medieval wall walk, which provides great views over the city.

The carvings and art inside Lincoln Cathedral are not to be missed. This gothic structure was commissioned by William the Conqueror, and was once head of the largest diocese in England.

A move to Lincoln will give you access to various green spaces just a short drive away. Hartsholme Country Park has more than 200 acres, where cycling, walking, picnics and lakes can be enjoyed.

There are several different shopping areas to choose from in Lincoln. These include Bailgate in the historic cathedral quarter with independent retailers, while the High Street is filled with your favourite stores. The city also has a number of street markets where you can pick up fresh local produce, art work and crafts.

Transport links

Lincoln has great transport links by road, rail or air.

From the North, the city can be reached either by the A15 (Hull) or the A46 (Grimsby).  From the South, the best route is via the A46 from Leicester, Newark and Nottingham, and via the A1 and A15 from London and East Anglia. From the East, Lincoln can be reached via the A158, and from the West via the A1 and A57.

Lincoln’s Central railway station can be found in the south of the city centre. Lincoln High Street, the main shopping spots and the Cathedral Quarter are all within easy walking distance from here.

East Midlands Trains, Virgin Trains East Coast and Northern Rail operate daily services to Peterborough (one hour and 13 minutes), Leicester (one hour and 43 minutes), Nottingham (50 minutes), Sheffield (one hour 21 minutes), Doncaster (51 minutes) and London (two hours and six minutes).

Humberside International Airport is just 30 miles northeast of Lincoln, and is 45 minutes by road.
