Don’t be with offers like our stress-busting Part Exchange initiative, where we could also save you thousands on estate agents fees by acting as a guaranteed buyer for your current home.
  • Leicester’s size means it’s great for walking around, always the best way to fully get to grips with the character, atmosphere and layout of a city. Stroll to notable spots such as the Guildhall as well as the castle and cathedral, and be sure to visit Abbey Park on a pleasant day. Here you’ll find a pretty boating lake next to the historic Augustinian abbey.

The excellent National Space Museum is a short hop from here, while New Walk Museum and Art Gallery is another cultural attraction well worth your time. Just round the corner from here is Town Hall Square with its fountain and seven-century-old market, while heading out towards the edge of town you’ll find open spaces such as Bradgate Park and Watermead Country Park.
  • This is a great place to live if you have children or want to start a family. Parks Primary School in the New Parks part of town is rated as one of the best primaries in the area, and classed as outstanding by Ofsted. The same goes for Sparkenhoe Community Primary School on the edge of the city centre.

When they grow up your kids can move on to Beauchamp College in Oadby, which is to the south east of the city centre and also ranked as outstanding. The mixed-sex Rushey Mead Academy on Melton Road is another of the city’s top performing secondaries.
  • Leicester has the transport links to match its great location. The city’s main train station on London Road is a busy hub, while the city’s served by a large number of bus routes. The M1 motorway runs close to town, while East Midlands Airport is under 20 miles from the city centre. This is less than half an hour’s journey in the car, while there are also direct trains.
