Located in the Wiltshire countryside, Westbury is a small town with a population close to 20,000. It has excellent transport links and is in close proximity to some of the South East’s most popular natural attractions.

The town’s most iconic landmark is Westbury White Horse, a historic hill figure on nearby Salisbury Plain which can be viewed more than 15 miles away. The horse has been adopted as a symbol for both Westbury and Wiltshire as a whole.
Westbury is surrounded by some of the South East’s best countryside. Cranborne Chase AONB is south of the town, the Cotswolds are north, the Mendips are found to the west and the North Wessex Downs to the north east. Living in Westbury, you have plenty of options for days out in the open countryside, whether you want to cycle, hike or to explore with the children.
Brokerswood Country Park is north west of the town, with 80 acres of woodland offering outdoor pursuits, woodland trails and adventure playgrounds.
The area also has a great deal of history and culture. There are regular trains to neighbouring Trowbridge with its museum on Saxon life and the textile industry, which once held major importance in the area. Farleigh Hungerford Castle is an impressive fortified mansion with gardens and only a 20 minute drive to the north of Westbury.
Situated nearby to Bath, Westbury offers easy access to the city’s two higher education institutions, the University of Bath and Bath Spa University.
Westbury is situated on the A350 which runs north to south from junction 17 of the M4. Despite its location in the Wiltshire countryside, Westbury benefits from good transport links both by car and rail from the town’s station.
Bath is the nearest city, 30 minutes by car along the A36 or 25 minutes by train from Westbury Station. Bristol is one hour away by road, or 45 minutes by train. The service from Westbury Station to Bristol is regular, which makes it a convenient route for commuters.
Southampton is one hour 15 minutes away by car, and Weston-super-Mare can be reached in one hour 10 minutes for day trips to the seaside.
For those visiting or working in London, there’s a First Great Western Service that reaches London Paddington in one hour 18 minutes. A car journey to the capital takes two hours 15 minutes on the A303 and the M3.
