The city centre is perfect for exploring on foot, where you’ll find many of Coventry’s best landmarks and cultural attractions. This includes the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum, Coventry Cathedral and the Lady Godiva statue, as well as the timber framed 22 Bayley Lane. This listed building serves as a glimpse into the city’s past, which was largely erased during the Second World War.
The spirit of the city endures, however, and this is keenly felt in places like the market. Close to here are attractions such as Coventry Transport Museum and an escape room centre. Moving away from the centre you’ll find spots like Brandon Reach Nature Reserve, the War Memorial Park and the Sowe Valley, as well as the National Exhibition Centre and the National Motorcycle Museum. And if you love peaceful open spaces, don’t miss Marsh Lane Nature Reserve or Ryton Pools Country Park. Education You can choose between a number of good schools in and around the city centre, including primaries such as Manor Park Primary, Earlsdon Primary School and All Saints CofE. At secondary level, President Kennedy School is an outstanding option according to Ofsted, while Bablake School is one of the area’s leading independents. -
The city’s strong Midlands location translates to its transport links, with excellent access to the M1, M40, M42 and M45 motorways. Birmingham is less than half an hour’s drive away, while there’s a major international airport just 10 miles from town. Coventry’s main train station is just off the A429, while the city also has a park and ride service and an extensive network of bus routes.
