Things to see and do

Clanfield is great for walkers as it’s situated in the South Downs National Park with a Green Flag Award; the Queen Elizabeth Country Park offers acres of hiking territory and woodland with walking, cycling and horse riding trails.

You can hire a barbeque in the summer or head to the visitor’s centre and café if it’s raining.

Providing village charm, Clanfield is split into two areas. ‘Old Clanfield’ has a thatched village well, pond and church, along with a skate park and children’s play area.

New Clanfield is where you’ll find everything you need such as a grocery store, hairdressers and butchers.

Portsmouth is easy to reach in around 25 minutes by road. The maritime city is proud of its rich heritage, with attractions including HMS Victory, the D-day Museum and the Royal Marines Museum. Shoppers are well served here, with Gunwharf Quays featuring designer stores, bars and restaurants, while Commercial Road and Cascades Shopping Centre offer high street favourites.

Despite its scenic location, Clanfield has strong transport links, by air, road or rail.

Clanfield is situated to the west of the main A3 road just north of where the A3 (M) ends and has easy access to surrounding villages such as East Meon, Horndean, Catherington and Hamledon as well as Portsmouth.

Petersfield Railway Station is around six miles from Clanfield and is 15 minutes away by car.

Offering connections around the country, it’s located on the Portsmouth Direct Line, which runs between London Waterloo (one hour and 10 minutes from Petersfield) and Portsmouth Harbour railway station (32 minutes from Petersfield).

Southampton is the nearest airport to Clanfield, where worldwide destinations can be reached via connections at Manchester Airport or Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. Heathrow Airport is around 55 miles away and offers both domestic and international flights.
