Moorgate Primary Academy is the most central school for young children in Tamworth, and rated as good by Ofsted. William MacGregor Primary and Coton Green Primary are good options on the outskirts of town, while Glascote Academy and Thomas Barnes Primary are further out but both outstanding. Landau Forte Academy is the local secondary school. It’s classed as good by Ofsted and has a sixth form college across the road.
Transport links in Tamworth
There are plenty of bus routes you can use to get around, while Tamworth’s train station is close to the town centre just off the A513. Services to Birmingham take just over 15 minutes, while it’s just over an hour to London.
The local council provides cycling maps both for the town and other parts of Staffordshire on its website, but if you have a car instead of or as well as bike, Tamworth is also conveniently located for the M6 and M42 motorways. Birmingham Airport is only a 20-minute drive away, or half an hour on the train.
