Evenings and weekends

Leisure

Earls Barton has plenty to offer to keep you entertained. Enjoy the picturesque lakes which are perfect for scenic walks and fishing. Or why not visit the New Lodge Vineyard, which is just outside the village set on a picturesque slop overlooking the Nene Valley - the perfect setting for wine tasting.

Restaurants and Bars

Whether it’s a drink after work, a place to catch up with friends or somewhere to experience good food, there is something for everyone in Earls Barton. Jeyes of Earls Barton is a family run business where you can enjoy traditional afternoon tea or if you prefer, a hot cup of coffee and a cake.

Shopping

If you fancy a day out shopping, Northampton’s Grosvenor Shopping Centre is less than nine miles away providing you with a good selection of high street shops and places to eat. Within just a 10 minute drive, you can reach the new Rushden Lakes shopping complex, where there is M & S, a House of Fraser and many more.

Live the life

There are plenty of annual festivities to get involved in once you've moved into your new home at The Wickets.

The Rally and Country Fayre

This event is usually held in late August. There is fun for all the family, with vintage vehicles, a pets corner, Punch and Judy and more than a hundred trade and craft stands. Soak up the summer sun and enjoy a cold local ale.

Quickdraw Country Music and Dance Festival

Also held in August, this festival is great for those of you who love to dance. If you want to get involved you can join in on the Partner and Line dancing lessons or sit back and take in the atmosphere whilst having a drink at the bar.

Dr Fright's Halloween Nights

This event is held through all of October. This is a great place to get your adrenaline pumping as you walk through the many indoor scare mazes. Each maze has a different theme and are filled with actors and props to get you screaming. Not for the faint-hearted.

The buying process

Buying a home follows a set process. Here’s a quick overview, but don’t worry if it seems complicated – our team will be happy to answer any questions you have.

View our detailed guide for more information on the process

Find a solicitor

You’ll need a solicitor that specialises in conveyance to look after all the paperwork. We can put you in touch with one if needs be.

Arrange your mortgage

There are plenty of options to consider when it comes to a mortgage. Once you’ve done your research (or spoken to a mortgage adviser – again, we can put you in touch if you like), you should seek an agreement in principle.

Get a valuation and survey

Your mortgage lender will want confirmation the home is worth what you’re paying for it. They’ll organise the valuation for you – this will involve a fee.

Complete legal work

Your solicitor will look after this for you. It’s all about formally transferring ownership from us to you, and checking there are no legal obstacles in the way.

Exchange contracts

Once the legal work is complete, your solicitor will exchange contracts with us. This is when you pay your deposit and commit to the deal taking place.

Complete and move in

On the date of completion, you become the legal owner of your new home. Collect the keys and make yourself comfy!
