Just over 15 miles away, only 30 away minutes by car, is the city of Chester. See the remains of the Roman Amphitheatre along with the water tower, castle and clock on the Eastgate.

Chester Cathedral is another highlight that dates back 1,000 years, while the 700 year old Chester Rows feature half-timbered galleries. These are reached by steps, and form a second row of shops above those at street level.

Chester Zoo is the most visited attraction outside London and features over 12,500 animals while shoppers will find a selection of stores in Chester, especially at the Grosvenor Shopping Centre. Here you will find big brands and high street favourites, while boutiques can be found around the city.

Leisure trips can be taken on the River Dee where you will pass Grosvenor Park, the Meadows and the Suspension Bridge. Waterside restaurants are a further highlight of the city, while a great selection of bars and restaurants offer a variety of choice for the evening.

Education

Malpas offers families a selection of good selection of primary and secondary schools, including Bishop Heber secondary school which was rated ‘outstanding’.

Chester University is also an option for those going on to higher education.

Transport Links

Malpas has strong transport links with the town being easily accessible via the A41 and A534. Chester is just over 15 miles away, while Nantwich, Wrexham and Crewe can all be reached in less than half an hour. The close proximity of these locations makes Malpas a great location for commuters.

The nearest train station is at Whitchurch, which can be reached in just 12 minutes by car.  From here you can access services to locations such as Crewe (16 minutes), Chester (one hour) and Liverpool (one hour and nine minutes).

Liverpool John Lennon airport can be reached in 54 minutes for those going further afield, while Manchester Airport takes just one hour to reach.
