Name that site!

Staplehurst primary school

Local school children at Staplehurst Primary School were challenged to take part in naming our new development based on the history of the surrounding area.

The winning name Dickens Gate was dreamed up by a class of children, who named the development after Charles Dickens. Dickens himself was in a train crash near Staplehurst station in June 1865, now an important piece of local history.
