    OUR LATEST TRUST PILOT REVIEW
""We recently visited David Wilson Homes to explore the properties currently available in Newbury and were pleasantly surprised by the good choice of apartments available at this early stage of the development. Heather has been absolutely lovely and incredibly supportive throughout. She took the time to show us around, explain the options clearly and answer all our questions. What we particularly appreciate is how responsive she is. If she doesn’t have an answer straight away, she always follows up as soon as she has the information. We’ve been very happy with the level of customer service so far. Heather has made the whole experience feel easy, welcoming and professional."

    Why Buy New?

    Award-Winning Quality

    Image alt text
We’re proud of our exceptional Site Manager Matt who has won an NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Award 2026.

The awards independently judge build quality against the highest standards, so when you choose a premium home at Lapwing Green you can buy with confidence knowing quality is at the heart of everything we do.

    Sustainable Living

    Image alt text
Designed with sustainability in mind, our community includes a range of features that help support local wildlife and reduce environmental impact.

Residents can enjoy dedicated hedgehog highways, bird boxes, bat boxes, swift nesting bricks, and sparrow terraces, creating valuable habitats for native species.

Many homes also benefit from electric vehicle charging points and PV solar panels, helping homeowners live more sustainably while reducing energy costs.

    Site and location

    A Fantastic location

Speen is the gateway to the North Wessex Downs Outstanding Natural Beauty AONB and offers a range of countryside walks, as well as plenty of history to explore such as Donnington Castle, The Ladywell and St.Mary 's Church.

Nearby, Newbury has a plethora of independent pubs and eateries and enough shops to spend the day out. Further afield, there are plenty of events, shows and festivals to enjoy at Highclere Castle and Newbury Racecourse.

For commuters, A34 can be reached in under a minute and can easily connect you to the M4 or up to Oxford. Plus, Newbury railway station is only 1.7 miles away and has direct trains to London.

    Essentials on your doorstep

You can find all the essentials on your doorstep at Lapwing Green, including:

    • 0.4 miles from Shell Garage
    • 0.7 miles from Brummel Road Convenience Store
    • 0.9 miles from Waitrose Supermarket
    • 0.9 miles from Donnington Grove Veterinary Group
    • 1 mile from Robert Sandilands Primary School and Nursery
    • 1 mile from Strawberry Hill Medical Centre
    • 1.3 miles from Speenhamland Primary School
    • 2.5 miles from Stockcross C E Primary School
    • 3 miles from St Bartholomew's Secondary School
    • 4 miles from St Gabriel's Nursery School

    Energy efficiency

It could potentially cost up to £70,000 to upgrade an old property to modern standards*. We use highly thermally efficient insulation and argon-filled double-glazing as standard, which allows the heat from the sun in whilst minimising heat loss.

This means you could enjoy lower bills. A brand-new home could be up to 21% more energy-efficient than an older home, meaning you could save up to £420 per year on your running costs.
