Brunel’s SS Great Britain

Designed by engineering colossus Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the SS Great Britain was a pioneering vessel which became the first iron steamer to cross the Atlantic in 1845. It put in more than 40 years of service and is now one of the South West’s top attractions in the form of an innovative museum permanently moored in Bristol. Your children will love stepping aboard to get a taste of Victorian life aboard a historic ship, experiencing the sights, smells and sounds of the life the sailors would have led.

A place where your kids can learn a thing or two while having plenty of fun, this famous eco-friendly attraction is known for its futuristic greenhouses brimming with thousands of different plant species from around the globe. From rainforest walks to rides along the longest zip wire in England, this is a must-visit for nature-loving families.
