Yet again we are proud to announce that we have won an incredible 74 Pride in the Job Awards for 2017-2018, more than any other national housebuilder for the 13th year in a row.
NHBC Pride in the Job is the home-building industry’s most prestigious awards programme, dedicated to recognising Site Managers who achieve the highest standards in quality home-building. A Pride in the Job award is the highest industry accolade a site manager can receive.
Each year as part of the awards, the NHBC join with leading experts in the home-building industry to rigorously judge over 16,000 Site Managers across the nation. Winning a Pride in the Job award requires consistently high scoring across a variety of categories, including:
- Quality of workmanship at every stage of the build process, including foundations, roofs, surface finishes and external works
- Leadership skills, which are reflected by a high level of morale and motivation on site
- Technical expertise and their ability to resolve issues on site
- A certain ‘X’ factor that sets them apart from their peers
From this marking process 450 Site Managers receive quality awards, and are then eligible to receive one or more of the next stage of the awards. All 74 of our winners will now proceed to the next stage of the awards.
That's on top of a great achievement in 2016.
23 x Seals of Excellence
The Seal of Excellence awards follow the initial quality awards where by 130 site managers are announced winners, with the winners split by region. Our site managers achieved 23 Seals of Excellence.
6 x Regional Best Site Managers
From each region of the Seal of Excellence award, one winner is selected from each of the five builder categories, which are single home, small, medium, large and multi-storey. Martin Beard from Hanham Hall, Bristol, and Kirk Raine from Webbs Meadow, Telford, were both named Best Regional Site Manager for their regions in the NHBC’s Large Builder category.
1 x Supreme Winner in the Large Builder category
One Supreme Winner is chosen from the regional winners of each of the five builder categories, and this prestigious award recognises the highest level of quality. The title of Supreme Winner is awarded to just five site managers nationwide. We are delighted that Russell Bond, Site Manager for our Aldgate Place development in Aldgate, was awarded the ultimate accolade of Supreme Winner in the Multi Storey Builder category.
We are also extremely proud to recognise the runner up of the same category for their achievements based at another Barratt Developments’ site, Newbury Racecourse. Site Manager, Mark Pinder of Midgard Ltd, came runner-up for his contribution and exceptional dedication to quality.
NHBC is the UK’s leading standard-setting body for new homes, and this achievement reflects our ongoing commitment to raising the standards.
