New Homes in the South West

New Homes in the South West

South West England has some of the best countryside and coast in the country, along with lively cities, towns and villages.

Made up of nine areas, each with their own character, buying a new home in the South West will provide lots of choice.

Things to see and do

For great countryside and coast, Cornwall and Devon can’t be beaten. From mountains and fields, alongside sand and sea, there is plenty to do. Surfers head to the many beaches of both areas, while lovely restaurants, bars and bistros serve up local dishes and offer plenty of choice.

For city lovers, the architecture of Bath won’t disappoint. Famous for its natural hot springs, here you can visit its ancient Roman baths, enjoy some shopping or a relaxing spa. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, exploring the city on foot is an absolute must.

Bristol is another option for those wishing to live in a city. The city is a hub for artists and creative types, with evidence throughout. Look out for Banksy street art, or head to one of the museums such as M Shed, Spike Island or the Architecture Centre. Shopping can be enjoyed across the city with a selection of high street and independent shops, while a great selection of restaurants and bars will leave you spoilt for choice.

Dorset is surrounded by lovely scenery, ideal for walking on the Jurassic Coast; England’s first natural World Heritage Site.

Wiltshire has impressive attractions including the medieval Salisbury Cathedral, alongside other great sites such as world famous Stonehenge, Avebury Stone Circle and Old Sarum.

The Cotswolds offers homebuyers the option of peaceful surroundings. These English villages are spread throughout the countryside, where walking and cycling can be enjoyed.

Education facilities

There are endless school and colleges throughout the South West of England for children of all ages. Renowned higher education establishment such as Bath, Bristol and Plymouth University can also be found in the part of the UK.

Transport links

The South West is easily reached from destinations around the UK by rail, air and road.

South West trains will take you to many destinations in the county. From Bristol, London can be reached in just one hour and 39 minutes, while from Dorset the capital can be reached in just under two hours.

Bristol Airport, Exeter International Airport and Newquay Airport are all located in South West England, providing great choices for those travelling further afield.
