A fantastic location

Aylsham's heritage stretches back to Saxon times. The town still holds its historic twice-weekly market and a monthly farmers' market, which attract visitors from surrounding towns and villages. It is one of only five UK 'cittaslow' towns, an international designation based on quality of life. It's also ideally located to make the most of Norfolk's natural environment, within easy reach of countryside, coast and Broads.

Aylsham has good connections to Norwich, the rest of East Anglia and beyond. There are road links to the city centre and towns such as Great Yarmouth, Diss and Cromer.

From Norwich railway station there are regular services to destinations all over Norfolk as well as Cambridge, Peterborough, Ipswich and London.

There are regular bus services from the town into the city and to Cromer and North Walsham, via a number of smaller villages and settlements. Norwich International Airport is just nine miles from Aylsham and offers regular scheduled routes to Holland, the Channel Islands and a number of UK destinations.

The buying process

Buying a home follows a set process. Here’s a quick overview, but don’t worry if it seems complicated – our team will be happy to answer any questions you have.

View our detailed guide for more information on the process

Find a solicitor

You’ll need a solicitor that specialises in conveyance to look after all the paperwork. We can put you in touch with one if needs be.

Arrange your mortgage

There are plenty of options to consider when it comes to a mortgage. Once you’ve done your research (or spoken to a mortgage adviser – again, we can put you in touch if you like), you should seek an agreement in principle.

Get a valuation and survey

Your mortgage lender will want confirmation the home is worth what you’re paying for it. They’ll organise the valuation for you – this will involve a fee.

Complete legal work

Your solicitor will look after this for you. It’s all about formally transferring ownership from us to you, and checking there are no legal obstacles in the way.

Exchange contracts

Once the legal work is complete, your solicitor will exchange contracts with us. This is when you pay your deposit and commit to the deal taking place.

Complete and move in

On the date of completion, you become the legal owner of your new home. Collect the keys and make yourself comfy!
