Residents of Peacehaven love the beach and spending time near the ocean. The Peacehaven Undercliff walk is ideal for a leisurely afternoon stroll, a family cycling trip or a morning run. The terrain is flat and the views stunning.
For a fun-family day out head to Seaford Museum, the Big Parks Project, Lewes Castle, Sky High Trampoline Park, or Spring Barn Farm.
Peacehaven is just 20 minutes outside of Brighton, meaning that days can be spent enjoying the Brighton Museum and Art Gallery. Brighton Palace Pier, the Toy and Model Museum and Sea Life Brighton are also worth a visit, while shopping in the Lanes or sampling local cuisine from the best independent restaurants and cafes are also great ideas for an afternoon out.
If you’re planning on moving to the area with school-age children, you’ll be pleased to know that there are several good schools in and around Peacehaven. These include Saltdean Primary, Telscombe Cliffs Community Primary School, Heights Primary School, and Seahaven Academy.
The University of Brighton is under half an hour away by car, perfect if you or your older children are planning on studying for a degree.
Getting to Peacehaven
The location of Peacehaven makes it an ideal spot to get out and explore the rest of the south coast or visit family and friends nearby. Brighton is just 20 minutes away along the A259 coastal road, while Eastbourne is a 40-minute journey in the other direction. You can also drive to London in two hours.
For trips by rail, your nearest station is in Newhaven. Newhaven Harbour station has direct services to Brighton (30 minutes) and Lewes (10 minutes) – you can jump on a service to London Victoria from Lewes with a total journey time of an hour and a half.
When it’s time for a well-earned rest you can catch an international flight from Gatwick – just 45 minutes away in the car and a 60-minute train journey from Newhaven Harbour, with one change in Lewes.
