New Homes in Belvedere

Welcome to Belvedere

Whether you’re exploring historic sites, walking in the countryside or taking a day trip into the capital, the market town of Belvedere has lots to see and do nearby. If you’re on the lookout for a place to live with good transport links and plenty of family-friendly attractions nearby, a new home in Belvedere could be the right choice for you.

A quick history

Up until the 19th century, Belvedere was a mainly wooded estate belonging to Sir Culling Eardley, who built All Saints Church which still stands to this day. The village began to grow around the church, with Callender’s Cable Works providing local employment. Today, Belvedere is part of Greater London, and is popular with commuters travelling into the capital.

Business and industry

With excellent transport links into London, the capital’s many employers are within easy reach of Belvedere including HSBC, the BBC, Royal Dutch Shell, BP, Barclays and GlaxoSmithKline. Aviva, Unilever and Vodafone are also based in London, while other employers cover financial, legal and creative industries.

Things to do in the area

Belvedere is a small town with a number of shops and cafes in the town centre. If you love exploring the great outdoors, you can take a stroll through Abbey Wood, spot wildlife at Crossness Nature Reserve or pay a visit to Southmere Park with the kids. Children will also love days out to Swanley New Barn Railway, The Design Museum and Chislehurst Caves.

If you want the hustle and bustle of city life, London is right on your doorstep, where attractions include the Tower of London, the Southbank Centre, Wembley Stadium and Covent Garden. Greenwich is only a short distance away from Belvedere, where you’ll find the National Maritime Museum, the Royal Observatory Greenwich and the Cutty Sark.

Travel and commuting

Belvedere is well-connected by road and rail, so it’s easy to travel to and from your new home. The journey to London takes just 30 minutes by train or 45 minutes by car, while the journey to Dartford takes 15 minutes and the drive to Maidstone around 35 minutes depending on traffic.

When you want to take a well-earned holiday, London Gatwick Airport is only 40 minutes from Belvedere by car, so there’s plenty of choice when it comes to your next adventure abroad.
