Sporting fans won’t be disappointed by what’s on offer throughout the village. From 18-hole rounds at Rushcliffe Golf Club to all-out competition at the East Leake Triathlon, the village has a something for everyone. Footpaths and bridleways offer a great way to exercise, while the leisure centre has a range of sporting facilities. Meadow Park has an impressive 18 hectares of open countryside to explore.
East Leake has a great heritage. The former railway line is now used by the Great Central Railway Nottingham for steam and diesel locomotives journeys between Ruddington and Rushcliffe Halt. St Mary’s Church, a Grade I listed building dating back to the 11th century, takes pride of place in the village centre.
For those with children, nearby Manor Farm and Woodlands offer hands-on, educational fun. It has one of the UK’s largest collections of owls, offers donkey rides and the chance to feed pigs, rabbits and guinea pigs.
In the village itself, there are a number of shops, alongside a selection of restaurants and pubs.
Nearby in Loughborough you’ll find Charnwood Museum, an art-deco style cinema and, during the month of May, the annual Loughborough Canal Festival.

The region’s educational facilities are among the best in the country, especially at higher level, with Loughborough, Nottingham and Leicester Universities continually ranked among the top in the UK.
East Leake has great road links, sitting close to the A60 and A6006 and just five miles from the M1. The village is also five miles north of Loughborough (13 minutes), fifteen miles north of Leicester (30 minutes) and ten miles south of Nottingham (22 minutes).
There are frequent bus services connecting East Leake to Nottingham (39 minutes) and Loughborough (13 minutes), while Loughborough train station is just a short car journey away (10 minutes). A five mile journey will take you to East Midlands Airport, which serves destinations across the globe.
