10 Apps to help your property search

The way people search for a new home has changed over the last few years. No longer do you have to physically visit estate agents and peer through their windows to find the profiles of homes that are for sale.

Today, online is the most common method and it often pays to have the best property search apps on your phone. The property world is fast-paced and you can’t afford to be left trailing behind. To help, we’ve created this list of the best property apps for searching and the best apps for giving you vital information during viewings:

1. Rightmove

The Rightmove website promotes over a million properties at a time and you can download the Rightmove app for free (download link below). Once you’ve set up your search perimeters, it’ll alert you every time a property that matches your criteria comes onto the market.

It updates daily and can save you valuable time as you won’t need to keep scrolling through properties that are out of your price range, don’t have enough bedrooms or aren’t in your chosen location. Thanks to the alerts, you should be able to arrange a viewing within a few minutes of a property you like being advertised.

Another giant of the property searching world is Zoopla. This website and app allow you to see how much properties in your chosen area or on your chosen street are sold for, also estimating what their value is now. All you need to do is type in the postcode or street name and click ‘search’.

The app uses your GPS to instantly show you homes nearby that are for sale, rent, or homes that are currently being built. It has a handy property search function, while you can filter searches by commute time too.
