Make your money go further with Help to Buy. First time buyers or existing homeowners can buy a new home with just a 5% deposit and a 20% equity loan – available on all new builds in England under £600,000. Easily find homes within your price range using our handy Help to Buy calculator.
Adjust the slider to the amount of deposit you have available. This calculator assumes that the minimum allowable deposit on a ‘with Help to Buy’ mortgage is 5% and the maximum allowable deposit is 30%. This calculator also assumes that the minimum deposit for a ‘without Help to Buy’ mortgage is 15%.
Mortgage interest rates are set by mortgage providers and will depend on a number of factors such as your deposit value, the value of the property and your financial circumstances. As a guide, as of June 2013 most mortgage rates are between 3% and 6%. This calculator works on the basis of a capital and interest repayment mortgage, with interest calculated monthly.
Adjust the slider to the amount you might expect to be able to repay each month on your mortgage. The results will include your other settings, including your mortgage amount, length of the mortgage term and interest rate. Note that this amount does not include the interest repayable to the Government on your Help to Buy equity loan from year 5 onwards.

“As a local girl I love The Tannery. The development offers something for everyone and has such a wide range of amenities close by which make this area perfect for anyone wanting style, space and comfort.”
The Tannery is set on the outskirts of Strensall which is close to the city of York. This village offers all the amenities that you could want with a local primary school, post office and library all close by. This development also benefits from the nearby Monks Cross and Vangarde shopping park’s which offer a range of restaurants and shops outside of the city centre.
York benefits from excellent public transport links with regular buses and trains running daily connecting you to surrounding areas and cities such as London. As well as this there are excellent road links with the nearby A64 and plenty of cycle friendly routes across the city and a local bus that runs every 10 minutes.

Buying a home follows a set process. Here’s a quick overview, but don’t worry if it seems complicated – our team will be happy to answer any questions you have.
View our detailed guide for more information on the process
You’ll need a solicitor that specialises in conveyance to look after all the paperwork. We can put you in touch with one if needs be.
There are plenty of options to consider when it comes to a mortgage. Once you’ve done your research (or spoken to a mortgage adviser – again, we can put you in touch if you like), you should seek an agreement in principle.
Your mortgage lender will want confirmation the home is worth what you’re paying for it. They’ll organise the valuation for you – this will involve a fee.
Your solicitor will look after this for you. It’s all about formally transferring ownership from us to you, and checking there are no legal obstacles in the way.
Once the legal work is complete, your solicitor will exchange contracts with us. This is when you pay your deposit and commit to the deal taking place.
On the date of completion, you become the legal owner of your new home. Collect the keys and make yourself comfy!
When you buy a David Wilson home you can be confident you’re dealing with one of the nation’s most trusted home builders.
We’re the only national home builder to win this prestigious award, six years running.
Most of our new homes come with a free 5 year warranty, giving you extra peace of mind.
See the quality of our homes for yourself - just give us a call to arrange a visit.
