Superior design

A contemporary community

Oaklands is an established, contemporary development of homes built throughout the last decade. The latest part of Oaklands to be developed includes an array of tree planting to continue the village feel which the development has established.

A feeling of space

As you drive down the winding streets at Oaklands, you'll meet a number of large green spaces along the way. A tree lined boulevard at the heart of the latest part of the development will create a spectacular view to the open countryside to the north and open space to the south.

Essentials on your doorstep

Oaklands is in easy reach of a number of local facilities including a Cineworld cinema and a number of parks.

Rugby town centre is a short drive away where there are plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants. There are Tesco and Sainsbury’s supermarkets close by, as well as an Aldi which can be found next door to the development.

The build so far

Oaklands is part of a development of homes and local shops and facilities to the north of Rugby town centre. We began construction in 2001 and thanks to Oaklands’ popularity have continued to build on the site since.

Even more choice

We have opened our new Sales Centre and showhomes as part of our latest stage of development. These showcase the latest in David Wilson Homes' design and quality.

Meet the team

Sheila, Sales Adviser at Oaklands

Val, Sales Adviser at Oaklands

Ben, Site Manager at Oaklands

Sales

Sheila's worked in house building for the last 20 years and likes working here as it's a busy site with a mix of homes and residents. She is working alongside Val, who really enjoys seeing each home come to life and taking on a character of its own.

Construction

Ben has won two industry awards for his work at Oaklands, so you can be sure your new home is built to an exceptional standard.

A fantastic location

The birthplace of rugby football, Rugby has a long and interesting history. With its mostly Victorian buildings, Rugby’s main shopping area is in the pedestrianised streets around the Clock Tower. The town centre has an indoor shopping centre – The Clock Towers, and a street market is held in the town centre several days each week.

Oaklands is a popular choice with commuters, thanks to its location. Just off the A426 and immediately off M6 junction 1, you have direct links to the M1, Birmingham and Coventry. Rugby’s railway station is a 10 minute drive from the development where you can catch trains to Birmingham New Street, Coventry, Milton Keynes and London Euston which you can reach in less than an hour.

The buying process

Buying a home follows a set process. Here’s a quick overview, but don’t worry if it seems complicated – our team will be happy to answer any questions you have.

View our detailed guide for more information on the process

Find a solicitor

You’ll need a solicitor that specialises in conveyance to look after all the paperwork. We can put you in touch with one if needs be.

Arrange your mortgage

There are plenty of options to consider when it comes to a mortgage. Once you’ve done your research (or spoken to a mortgage adviser – again, we can put you in touch if you like), you should seek an agreement in principle.

Get a valuation and survey

Your mortgage lender will want confirmation the home is worth what you’re paying for it. They’ll organise the valuation for you – this will involve a fee.

Complete legal work

You solicitor will look after this for you. It’s all about formally transferring ownership from us to you, and checking there are no legal obstacles in the way.

Exchange contracts

Once the legal work is complete, your solicitor will exchange contracts with us. This is when you pay your deposit and commit to the deal taking place.

Complete and move in

On the date of completion, you become the legal owner of your new home. Collect the keys and make yourself comfy!
