Adjust the slider to the amount of deposit you have available. This calculator also assumes that the minimum deposit for a ‘without Help to Buy’ mortgage is 15%.

Mortgage interest rates are set by mortgage providers and will depend on a number of factors such as your deposit value, the value of the property and your financial circumstances. As a guide, as of June 2013 most mortgage rates are between 3% and 6%. This calculator works on the basis of a capital and interest repayment mortgage, with interest calculated monthly.

[?]

Adjust the slider to the amount you might expect to be able to repay each month on your mortgage. The results will include your other settings, including your mortgage amount, length of the mortgage term and interest rate. Note that this amount does not include the interest repayable to the Government on your Help to Buy equity loan from year 5 onwards.

Meet the team

Claire, The Gateway

Sales Adviser - Claire McCourt

The location is amazing, overlooking the North Yorkshire Moors, at the foot of the National Park in the countryside with only a short walk to the historic town of Pickering. The customers who have purchased on here are extremely welcoming and have created the most wonderful community on the development.

The most outstanding attribute to the development is the public community park land which David Wilson Homes are developing. The Gateway really is a wonderful place to live and luckily for me, to work also!

The buying process

Buying a home follows a set process. Here’s a quick overview, but don’t worry if it seems complicated – our team will be happy to answer any questions you have.

View our detailed guide for more information on the process

Find a solicitor

You’ll need a solicitor that specialises in conveyance to look after all the paperwork. We can put you in touch with one if needs be.

Arrange your mortgage

There are plenty of options to consider when it comes to a mortgage. Once you’ve done your research (or spoken to a mortgage adviser – again, we can put you in touch if you like), you should seek an agreement in principle.

Get a valuation and survey

Your mortgage lender will want confirmation the home is worth what you’re paying for it. They’ll organise the valuation for you – this will involve a fee.

Complete legal work

You solicitor will look after this for you. It’s all about formally transferring ownership from us to you, and checking there are no legal obstacles in the way.

Exchange contracts

Once the legal work is complete, your solicitor will exchange contracts with us. This is when you pay your deposit and commit to the deal taking place.

Complete and move in

On the date of completion, you become the legal owner of your new home. Collect the keys and make yourself comfy!
