Superior design

At David Wilson Homes we don't build houses, we build homes. Homes that are designed for growing families and modern lifestyles, executives and busy couples. At The Fairways, where you're on the edge of amazingly beautiful countryside, we've taken this setting into consideration. We've built homes that reflect the surroundings, yet are practical and reflect high specification details throughout.

Essentials on your doorstep

The Fairways is set alongside the Bedford Golf Club and minutes from Kempston where you'll find all the essentials you need, from doctors surgeries, dentists, supermarkets, post office, pubs and restaurants. Closer to home on the development are a medical centre, a primary school and a nursery (set to open January 2013)

The build so far

Phase 3 is now underway at The Fairways, with 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedroom. The Primary School on site is now open. Building work has started on the Toybox Nursery on the development. This will provide residents with quick and easy access to an excellent childcare facility from 2013.

A fantastic location

Nestling in the loop of The Great River Ouse, to the west of historic Bedford, you’re neighbours of Biddenham’s Golf Club, Bowls Club and the Sports Centre. The Fairways is very well connected. The new A421 speeds you along to Bedford and the A1 to the east, and Milton Keynes and the M1 to the west. You’re less than two miles from Bedford train station, and only 40 minutes from London St Pancras.

Living at The Fairways gives you many transport choices, whether travelling by car, rail or coach. Kempston is just around the corner near Bedford and the intersection of the M1, A1, A421, A428 and A6.  Bedford station is your nearest rail link. It’s on the Midland Main Line from London St. Pancras to Sheffield through the recently opened East Midlands Parkway, with trains on to Loughborough, Trent Junction and Nottingham’s East Midlands Airport. Embark for Bletchley to join the London to Scotland services. Alternately, you might like to coach from Bedford Bus Station. Your local shop is close enough to be reached via a short stroll or cycle ride.

The buying process

Buying a home follows a set process. Here’s a quick overview, but don’t worry if it seems complicated – our team will be happy to answer any questions you have.

View our detailed guide for more information on the process

Find a solicitor

You’ll need a solicitor that specialises in conveyance to look after all the paperwork. We can put you in touch with one if needs be.

Arrange your mortgage

There are plenty of options to consider when it comes to a mortgage. Once you’ve done your research (or spoken to a mortgage adviser – again, we can put you in touch if you like), you should seek an agreement in principle.

Get a valuation and survey

Your mortgage lender will want confirmation the home is worth what you’re paying for it. They’ll organise the valuation for you – this will involve a fee.

Complete legal work

You solicitor will look after this for you. It’s all about formally transferring ownership from us to you, and checking there are no legal obstacles in the way.

Exchange contracts

Once the legal work is complete, your solicitor will exchange contracts with us. This is when you pay your deposit and commit to the deal taking place.

Complete and move in

On the date of completion, you become the legal owner of your new home. Collect the keys and make yourself comfy!
