We won the main prize at the Housebuilder Awards 2011, which were organised by The Housebuilder magazine in conjunction with the official industry body the Home Builders Federation (HBF).

The judges were impressed that we have set industry-leading standards in terms of higher quality, better design and engaging even more closely with local people. In their citation the judges said: “Volume housebuilder Barratt Developments* was crowned large housebuilder of the year for being an outstanding all-rounder, showing its prowess in the fields of zero carbon, regeneration, design and landscaping.”

David Wilson's The Gateway development, pictured, in Pickering, Yorkshire won the best community initiative award.
